I would just hate to see you lose some people because they get the Windows and think that's all there is. A few weeks ago, we finally launched Goodnotes cross-platform.After 12 years of being a product only available on iPad, we are so proud and happy to see our product finally available for Android, Windows, and Web users. Windows is totally different than IOS is structure so I get it. I will definitely hang in there because I know what it is capable of, unfortunately, it just isn't there yet but I know it will get there. This makes the Windows version worthless to me at this time. In the beta version I could key text into the Windows version, I find that is missing all together or I haven't been able to locate it. I use the hyperlinks constantly in the IOS version and they are not available at this time in the Windows. I was a participant in the beta version of the Windows and was extremely surprised whrn they said they were releaing it as is. I have tried several and a couple come close but still just don'e meet up for my needs. I have used the IOS version in our business and personal lives for several years and absolutely couldn't be without it. The note-taking experience on an iPad will be much smoother.I know this is a work in progress, I know this has been requested for quite a while, My personal opinion is that it was released too soon. You certainly can, but sadly the performance isn't that great, and we're looking to improve this. That said, with the growing popularity of drawing tablets that you can connect to your Mac, we might be able to support this feature in the future.Ĭan I use a drawing tablet with Goodnotes for macOS? The Zoom window is designed for writing neatly on the glass surface, especially with a big finger or stylus tip. Why is the Zoom window feature not available like in the iOS version? Unfortunately, importing PowerPoint and Word documents isn't yet supported in Goodnotes for macOS. Why can't I import PowerPoint or Word documents? Then you can click on a hyperlink, or click-and-hold the link and choose Open Link. Whereas noteful seems to be a little bit smaller and I’m unsure how far along the development team will work. Good notes is from a bigger more well-known company, and it’s definitely not going anywhere and will be worked on. Being able to search handwritten notes is invaluable. If you’re a free user you’ll unfortunately be auto-upgraded in September to free Goodnotes 6. For me, the search function in GoodNotes is just so much better.

If you’re a paid user you just simply don’t upgrade and you’ll keep Goodnotes 5.

Unfortunately, there isn't a way to download an earlier Goodnotes version for an older macOS version. That's a trade-off for making the app universal.

Sadly, the new framework for universal apps only works on on macOS Big Sur (11.3) or later. Is there a Goodnotes version for macOS Mojave, Sierra, or Catalina? For various reasons, I can't or don't want to update my Mac system software. I see that Goodnotes for macOS requires at least macOS 11.3 (Big Sur). Some features might be missing because they're currently not relevant on macOS, for example, the Zoom window tool. You can refer to Getting started with Goodnotes 6. Goodnotes 5 for macOS supports almost all features from the Goodnotes 5 iOS version.

Goodnotes 6 release
